Grabowski Offers Belated Thanks for IL 3rd Congressional GOP Primary Win, Now On to November

On March 20th, 2012, Richard L. Grabowski, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress - IL 3rd District, won the nomination to take on incumbent Democrat Dan Lipinski in the November 2012 General Election

In the March 20 primary election, Richard L. Grabowski, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress - IL 3rd District, won the Republican party nomination to take on incumbent Democrat Dan Lipinski, son of former 3rd District Congressman William Lipinski, in the upcoming November 6th, 2012 General Election.

"I'd like to reach out and thank the many voting citizens of the south and southwest side of Chicago, and the southwest and western suburbs,” Grabowski said, “who came out in support and endorsed my candidacy. This cumulative grassroots effort grew out of many cities, neighborhoods and suburban townships, and shows what can happen when ordinary people stand up in support of an independent minded, ordinary citizen with no political connections.”

“We need common sense leadership, a genuine effort to reduce federal spending, and a real voice for ordinary citizens and taxpayers," Rich says, "not palm greasing, wheeling and dealing, half truth politicians.”

In a tough three way primary race, with voting totals from the Chicago, Suburban Cook County, Will County and DuPage County Boards of Election combined, Grabowski brought in 20,829 votes (nearly 60%) to Falvey's 10,414 votes (30%) to Jones' 3,845 (almost 11%). The precinct level vote total percentages remained consistent for Grabowski throughout the many regions of the district, with the highest percentages drawing from within the Chicago City borders at nearly 64%.

“This year,” Grabowski said, “ordinary voters from both parties are finally uniting with a common goal of once and for all taking on, denouncing and dismantling what 40 years of oppressive rule and iron fist domination by establishment Madigan Machine Democrats in our district and state have done to our families, our businesses, our quality of life and our local economies in our neighborhoods and communities. These poisonous political relationships of pay-to-play cronyism, nepotism and corruption have been increasingly spreading to our suburban areas and need to end.”

"November is not a slam dunk by any means," said Grabowski. "We will be up against an entrenched Democrat incumbent, who moved to Chicago from Tennessee in 2004 to take over his father's Congressional seat when powerbroker Bill Lipinski decided to retire out mid-election. Most voters thought they were voting for Bill, the father, but fooled by this shenanigan found they had voted for the son, Dan. Many Chicago voters still have not gotten over this. This exchange of power was the first of several south-side familial arranged nepotism handoffs in Illinois's past political decade of Democratic decadence.”

“We will need the help of every citizen voter in Chicago and the nearby suburbs”, Rich said, “who has long been tired of living under the historically politically oppressive thumb of lockstep Democratic precinct captains, ward bosses, and union leadership who for decades have frowned on city workers and union membership pulling a primary ballot that wasn’t Democrat.  This is the general election to turn it all upside down, not only for ourselves, but for our future generations!”
