D122, D123, D218, D229, Other Schools Announce Tuesday Closures - UPDATED 5X

Oak Lawn's public school districts will remain closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7, due to the extreme cold.

Oak Lawn Community High School's athletic practices and games will commence after 1 p.m. Tuesday provided that the region's wind-chill warning is lifted. Students will be notified by their coaches.

OLCHS fully expects to resume classes  on Wednesday, Jan. 8, but on a half-day schedule. School is expected to be session Wednesday from 7:45 to 11:41 a.m. (Updated)

All Archdiocese of Chicago Schools, including Oak Lawn's and other surrounding community parochial elementary schools, will remain closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7. (Updated)

The Chicago region remains under a wind-chill warning until noon Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

• Dist. 125, including Lawn Manor (Oak Lawn), Meadow Lane (Merrionette Park) and Hamlin (Alsip).
