Mideast Travelogue: Syria

The Oak Lawn Public Library will host a free program on Syria on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. World traveler Bill Helmuth will share experiences and fascinating photos from his recent journey to Syria and take you on a memorable tour beyond politics and religion to uncover Syria's people and their multi-ethnic, millennia-old culture. Throughout the presentation, Helmuth will feature the extraordinary Roman Ruins of Palmyra, the ancient Christian Citadels in Homs and the 8th Century Mosque in Damascus.
