Before Don Draper, there was corporate ladder-climbing, suck-up J. Pierrepont Finch.
The Marist High School Theatre Guild hits the boards with the 1961 Tony-Award winning musical, “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”
The musical follows the travails of a young window-washer, J. Pierrepont Finch, and his rise from the mailroom to the boardroom. Finch's unorthodox and morally questionable business practices jeopardize not only his career but also his romance with his secretary Rosemary Pilkington.
The cast, crew, and orchestra of more than 75 students have been rehearsing for weeks in preparation for the show.
“How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” opens Thursday, April 3 and runs through Saturday, April 5. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. each evening, and an additional matinee at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets will be available at the door, and cost $5 for students and $8 for adults.
