Oak Lawn Graduate Knudsen Powers Saint Xavier Women's Volleyball

Kelly Knudsen's strong play at the net has the Saint Xavier women's volleyball team soaring.

If you're looking for a temporary volleyball fix, this Kelly girl fits the bill.

Oak Lawn Community High School graduate Kelly Knudsen is tearing it up at the net in her junior year at Saint Xavier University. Knudsen, a 6-foot outside hitter, leads the Cougars in kills (238) and ranks third in blocks (70 solo) heading into a 7 o'clock match tonight against Roosevelt University in Chicago.

The Cougars, behind Kundsen's powerful play, boast a 17-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Knudsen was a second-team all-CCAC selection a year ago. She is a nursing major at Saint Xavier.
