Oak Lawn Officials to Dedicate Napleton Field at Homecoming Rally

In recognition of Ed Napleton's $1 million gift, Oak Lawn Community High School officials decided to name their new athletic field of dreams "Napleton Field."

Ed Napleton is a third-generation family businessman. In 1931, his grandfather started selling DeSoto cars on the South Side of Chicago. Later, his father sold autosmobiles. Today, Ed owns and operates 20 franchises in three states—Illinois, Missouri and Florida—including Ed Napleton Honda.

And if his name is not already recognizable enough in the community, then get this: Oak Lawn Community High School officials plan to dedicate their new athletic field as “Napleton Field” at 7:15 p.m. Thursday during a homecoming pep rally at the school.

The Spartans’ field of dreams came about through a cooperative effort between the high school board, the Village of Oak Lawn and the work of Napleton. He earmarked $1 million for the installation of FieldTurf and a new track in exchange for a piece of land adjacent to the high school.
