Name this Chicago Bears-Inspired Ice Cream

There's a new ice cream company coming to Chicago, and they're looking for Chicagoans' help in naming a Bears-inspired flavor.

An ice cream company from Michigan is making its way to the Chicago market, and they know the way to our hearts: food.

Hudsonville Ice Cream will soon debut a new Limited Edition flavor and needs Chicagoans to help name it.  The company is teaming up with the Chicago Bears to launch the Midwest ice cream company’s newest flavor: chocolate ice cream with fudge pieces and a peanut butter ripple.

Hudsonville and the Bears are looking to the Bears’ fans—the ones that endure the cold, lose their voices after every game and the ones that cook up the snacks for their favorite Bears fans—to help name the flavor inspired by the Monsters of the Midway.

The ice cream company, located across the big lake in Holland, Michigan, is asking the public to vote for their favorite of three options, all inspired by the hometown team: Chocolate Monster, Da Ice Cream and Bear Traxx. Vote online through Friday, May 16.

One voter for the winning flavor name will randomly be selected to win a year’s supply of free ice cream. The flavor will be available in stores later this year.

“We are truly excited and honored to partner with the Bears organization. The Bears work hard and bring Chicagoans together; their milestones have caused celebration since 1920. At Hudsonville we feel we have many of those same qualities,” said CJ Ellens of Hudsonville Ice Cream. “The artisans at Hudsonville started making ice cream back in 1926 and we work hard every day to make the best ice cream we can. Ice cream brings people together and helps us celebrate.”

Ellens said Hudsonville Ice Cream looks forward to the partnership with the Bears being unique, it will allow fans to bring the taste of their favorite team home. “What is even more exciting is that the fans have complete control over the name. We hope everyone gets online and votes.”
