Athlete of the Week: Marist's Kelly Marcinek Steps to Fore
Junior outside hitter Kelly Marcinek had seven kills in Marist's huge comeback volleyball victory over Mother McAuley last week.
Kelly Marcinek may be in her first year at Marist, but she's already making a huge impact.
After transferring from Marian Catholic, Marcinek is a big reason why Marist is ranked No. 1 in Patch's volleyball rankings. She had seven kills in the RedHawks' improbable 26-24, 25-18 victory over Mother McAuley last Tuesday.
Three of those kills came early in Game 2, helping Marist jump out to a 10-6 lead and the Redhawks never looked back. Marcinek is honored today for her performance as the Patch Athlete of the Week for Oak Lawn.

"Kelly really stepped up for us and did a great job on the outside,” senior setter Ashely Holder said after Marist's victory.
