Athlete of the Week: Oak Lawn's McGuinness Key for Conference Race
The Spartans' boys volleyball team is in good hands with senior Patrick McGuinness.
When the race is tight for the best record in conference, teams often look to their seniors to lead the way.
It’s no different for Oak Lawn’s boys volleyball team, which is in the thick of a hotly contested South Suburban Conference race. Senior outside hitter Patrick McGuinness is providing the leadership the Spartans need for a run at the conference crown.
Oak Lawn is 7-2 in conference and will be part of a sprint to the finish.

McGuinness led Oak Lawn to two important conference wins last week, as the Spartans defeated Reavis 25-19, 19-25, 25-21 on Tuesday and beat Eisenhower 23-25, 25-16, 25-17 on Wednesday.
McGuinness had 17 kills against Reavis and 13 against Eisenhower.
