BULLDOG NATION: Richards Psyches Up for State-Title Game With Pep Rally

Richards gives football team rousing send off as Bulldogs head to DeKalb for the Class 6A championship.

Richards High School staged a noisy pep rally on Wednesday afternoon that could be heard all the way in Batavia.

Richards plays Batavia at 1 p.m. Saturday, where it will be Bulldog vs. Bullsdog.

TAKE THE BATTLE OF THE BULLDOGS' FAN POLL

This will be the Bulldogs' first trip to a state-title game since 2001, where they placed second in the Class 6A final.

Before school was dismissed for Thanksgiving break, students psyched up for the big game giving the football team a rousing send off.

Richards Principal John Hallberg said that the school already sold 400 tickets to Saturday's Class 6A game in Huskie Stadium on the NIU campus in DeKalb.

The school will also host a hospitality tent outside the stadium where Richards' students, families, alumni and fans can stop by to warm up and enjoy a hot beverage.

If you can't make it to Huskie Stadium, Comcast SporstNet will be broadcasting the IHSA state-tile football games live, including the Richards-Batavia game, where you can watch in the comfort and warmth of your own home. (Find out where you can catch the game on TV.)

Comcast/Xfinity customers can also stream the game LIVE by signing in with their Comcast user names and passwords by visiting IHSA TV. (Day passes available for $9.95 for non-Comcast customers.)

If you haven't done so already, take Richards-Batavia fan poll.

Meanwhile, enjoy these scenes from Wednesday's pep rally.

GO, DAWGS!
