Cream Rises to Top at Spartan Junior High Girls Basketball Tournament

Top seventh- and eighth-grade players earn all-tournament honors at the conclusion of play in the 14th annual Spartan Junior High girls basketball tournament at Oak Lawn Community High School.

More than 60 seventh- and eighth-graders particpated, and 12 were recognized as the cream of the crop at the conclusion of the 14th annual Spartan Junior High girls basketball tournament at Oak Lawn Community High School.

St. Gerald's Emer Maloney, Oak Lawn-Hometown's Allie Contino, Kellie O'Connor and Katie Reierson, and Simmons' Sam Lesiak and Mia Loya were named to the eighth-grade all-tournament team.

The seventh-grade all-tournament team featured Oak Lawn-Hometown's Maggie Madden, Stacy Mandru and Camila Quinones, St. Gerald's Kealy Shane and Simmons' Alexa Lopez and Danni Quigley.

The annual tournament is coordinated by Oak Lawn girls basketball coach Janet Haubenreiser and athletic director Will Dwyer.
