Arts Extravaganza

This year's event follows our hugely successsful inaugural event last year at Shepard HS. This event allows students from throughout Dist 218 to show off their skills and talents in a wide variety of artistic pursuits. The evening is filled with excellent food prepared by students from the district's culinary programs. The jazz bands and show choirs have an unbeliveable degree of polish  and talent. The displays of two and three dimensional artwork would be standouts at any high end juried art fair. My favorite is The Laughing Aardvarks; the improvisational comedy troupe from Richards HS. As a foundation trustee, I am just amazed at the heart invested in this show by our talented students and their faculty who dedicate their careers and souls to their student's success. Best of all, it's a cheap night out, $10 for adults and $5 for students / seniors. All profits go towards academic scholarships and additional programs for the students.
