TALL GRASS ARTS TO HOST 57TH ANNUAL PARK FOREST ART FAIR
The 57th Annual Park Forest Art Fair will be held on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16 in DownTown Park Forest from 10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Approximately 70 artists from across the Midwest will exhibit works in a variety of media including paintings, prints, photography, pottery, glass, wood and fiber arts.
The Park Forest Art Fair is the second oldest juried fair in the Chicagoland region. This year, several new artists were selected to participate in the fair.
The fair will also feature many activities for children ranging from the traditional art contest to mural painting, tie dying, and activities hosted by the Park Forest Library.
Several food vendors will be present serving pizza, pork chop sandwiches, Mexican foods, desserts and more.  A wine tasting will be back, by popular request.
The Village of Park Forest will host a music fest all day Saturday during the art fair.  Musical groups will perform in a variety of styles from jazz to folk.  On Sunday, the folk music duo known as Patchouli will perform all day with a special appearance at noon by the Grande Prairie Choral Arts choir. Both the music fest and art fair are open to the public, free of charge.
During the art fair, the Tall Grass Gallery will host an exhibit of Tall Grass artists entitled “Luminosity.”  More than 50 new works, not seen before in the gallery, will be on display.  The gallery is also open to the public, free of charge.
Fair visitors should be aware that the main street through Park Forest, Orchard Drive, is under construction and is one-way north.  Alternative routes include Governors Highway or Western Avenue.
For additional information, call the Gallery at 708-748-3377 or check the Tall Grass Facebook page or website at www.tallgrassarts.org.
