Football: Brother Rice Gets It Done In Overtime Against Marist

Breaking It Down: Martez Walker rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns to spearhead a punishing ground game, but it was Andrew Walker's 2-yard run in overtime that propelled the Crusaders to a 34-31 road victory over .

The game-winner came after Marist took a 31-28 lead on a 30-yard field goal by Cillian Hannon.

Trailing 14-7 at halftime, Marist came out of the locker room with a renewed fighting spirit and ripped off three touchdowns to take a 28-14 lead with 3:53 to go in the third quarter. RedHawks wide receiver/defensive back Ryan Meyer led the charge with an interception return for a touchdown, a TD run and a 24-yard reception that set up his scoring run.

Patch's MVP: Andrew Walker, Brother Rice. Walker's battering ram running style—23 carries for 85 yards with two touchdowns—wore down the Marist defense late in the game after Martez Walker left the game late in the third quarter with an injury. Andrew's 2-yard plunge in OT was the game-winner.

Marist Stat Pack: Ryan Meyer (5 catches, 108 yards) had two touchdowns, one on the ground and one on an interception return. Quarterback Ian Woodworth went 14-of-29 for 210 yards and had a rushing TD. Running back Peter Andreotti had a 5-yard TD run.

Brother Rice Stat Pack: Richard Mayer and Charlie Finn each had three carries for 15 yards. The offensive line paved the way for touchdown runs of 26, 65, 15, 11 and 2 yards. The Crusaders finished with 302 yards on the ground.

Quotable I: “Last week we went to Orr, which is the furthest north point—Pulaski (Avenue) and Chicago Avenue. Then we went to the furthest southern most point, 115th and Pulaski. Nobody can say that we don't own Pulaski, at least for this year," Brother Rice head coach Steve Nye said.

Quotable II: “We're going to be in here (Saturday) watching film and learn from our mistakes," Marist wide receiver Ryan Meyer said. "We've got a lot of mistakes to learn from and we're just going to keep moving forward. We've still got seven games left."
