Gimme 5: It's No Accident Richards' Solus Has Turned into Solid Goalie
Bulldog senior Ashley Solus was looking for softball tryouts her freshman year when she stumbled upon soccer. Now, she's leading the team in the middle of a playoff run.
When Richards goalkeeper Ashley Solus was a freshman, she had plans to be a softball player. However, she couldn’t find the room for softball tryouts and, instead, found herself at soccer tryouts. Her friend convinced her to stay and try soccer.
It was a good thing for the Richards soccer program she stumbled into the sport because now she’s the starting goalie on a team in the middle of a playoff run.
It’s also a good thing for Solus because she already has plans to continue her soccer career next year at Moraine Valley Community College.
