Gimme 5: Oak Lawn's Calandriello a Football Sack Man
The Spartans' Mike Calandriello is coming off a breakout season. He recorded seven sacks as a junior.
Mike Calandriello isn’t the most outgoing football player you’ll ever meet. Instead, he chooses to let his performance do the talking.
The senior defensive end for Oak Lawn busted onto the scene with seven sacks a year ago.
"He can get up the field and get around the end or he can make a move and get underneath," said Sean Lucas, first-year coach at Oak Lawn. "He had a great junior season, and we’re expecting big things out of him."

Calandriello will line up opposite of Fabian Martinez in the hopes of giving Oak Lawn consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. And when the season starts on Friday, Lucas expects Calandriello to be ready.
"(Mike's) always in the weight room, always working to get better," Lucas said. "Always pushing his teammates to get better."
