Oak Lawn Girls Volleyball Fights Back After Loss to Champs

Spartans' cross country standout Eric Lindelsee is proving to be a force on the course.

After a tough loss to defending Class 2A state champion Chicago Christian, ’s girls volleyball team responded in a big way by defeating Hillcrest, 25-13, 25-14.

Amber Maiberger had six kills and a block, while Jessica Consenza dished out 14 assists and had four digs for the Spartans. Rachel Kestian also had three kills, two digs and an ace in the victory.

Oak Lawn improved to 2-1 and 1-0 in the South Suburban Conference.

Boys Cross Country: Spartans’ Lindelsee Right on Course

expected to be at or near the front of the pack in almost every race he ran this season, and he’s already making good on that goal. At the Wildcat Invite on Saturday, Lindelsee finished third, helping Oak Lawn’s boys cross country team to an eighth-place finish.

Lindelsee finished the course in 16:19, only 16 seconds behind Lockport’s Thomas Razo, who took the individual title.

Girls Tennis: Oak Lawn Experiences Highs and Lows

Oak Lawn’s girls tennis team went through some peaks and valleys in its latest quad match last weekend. The Spartans dropped 5-0 matches to Providence and Lincoln-Way North, who went 3-0 in the quad.

Oak Lawn’s lone victory came in a 5-0 victory against Argo. Argo failed to win a point in its three matches.

Boys Golf: Richards Duo Hot on the Links

When only four scores count in high school golf, it’s often hard to beat a team that features the hottest golfers on a certain day. defeated Bremen 160-186 on the backs of Matt Kendryna and Lucas Christian, who both shot 37 for nine holes. The Bulldog duo earned medalist honors in the victory.
