Oak Lawn, Richards, Marist Compete in the Heat of Summer Baseball

The three teams had varying degrees of success in the Richards Regional of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association summer state tournament.

Richards defeated Argo 8-3 on Monday before losing 7-4 to Oak Forest on Tuesday. Oak Lawn defeated Shepard 12-2 on Monday before losing 4-1 to Mount Carmel on Tuesday. Marist fell 12-11 to Marian Catholic on Monday.

McAuley’s Ford Gets Scholarship

Mother McAuley announced that Dana Ford has accepted a softball scholarship from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ford was most recently a shortstop for the Mighty Macs, who last June advanced to the sectional finals. Ford also played lacrosse at McAuley, helping her team advance to state sectionals in June.

Richards Will Meet Morris in Football

There will be a rematch of the 1989 football state championship game when Richards hosts Morris in Week 2 of this season. In 2012, the game will be played at Morris.
