On His Game: Oak Lawn's Oscar Barragan a Soccer Playmaker
After battling through injuries in his first varsity season, Spartan senior soccer midfielder Oscar Barragan has emerged as Oak Lawn's playmaker.
Oscar Barragan says his favorite soccer player is Leo Messi, the European star for FC Barcelona.
And while Barragan doesn't play the same position as Messi, coach Nate Joiner says his creativity is just as important.
"Oscar's our playmaker, all the balls go through him and he distributes it," Joiner said of his senior center midfielder. "So far he's been playing lights out, really well."

Barragan battled injuries throughout his first three seasons at Oak Lawn, but this season, he has been healthy and able to show off his playmaking abilities.
