Richards Heads Downstate To Battle East St. Louis in Football Semifinal

Where you can watch the Bulldogs' semi-final at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The Richards Bulldogs hit the road for downstate Illinois where they will duke it out with the East St. Louis Flyers in the IHSA football semi-finals.

The Flyers were 6-3 in regular season play, vs. the Bulldogs 8-1 record.

Last week, the Bulldogs beat Lincoln-Way North in a rainy thriller after trailing 6-0 until the the fourth quarter. Richards quarterback Hasan Muhammad-Rogers tied the game with an 18-yard touchdown, and would repeat his performance moments later in overtime, scoring a 10-yard game.

Saturday’s game (Nov. 23) starts at 3 p.m.

The winner of Saturday’s semi-final will go on to face the winner of the Batavia-Boylan Catholic (Rockford) game in the state championship in Huskies Stadium at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb on Nov. 30.
