Water's Edge Site of Upcoming Oak Lawn Golf Outing

Score a hole-in-one at the Oak Lawn baseball and boys basketball golf outing and you'll drive away in a new convertible.

Do you play golf? Do you enjoy supporting the Oak Lawn Community High School baseball and boys basketball teams?

Well, here is your chance to do both, play golf and support your favorite Spartan teams.

Oak Lawn High school is playing host to its annual baseball and boys basketball golf outing on Friday, Aug. 5, at Water's Edge Golf Course. The event begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner, catered by Hog Wild, and an open bar follow at 6:30.

Golfers will have a chance to win a Chrysler 200 Convertiable from Mancari Dodge. But you'll have to card a hole-in-one to claim the big prize.

Tickets for the golf and dinner package are $110 per person. Dinner only tickets are $30. To purchase tickets, contact Oak Lawn athletic director Will Dwyer at 708-741-5623.

Richards Site of IHSBCA Baseball Regional

Richards will the site of IHSBAC regional baseball action next week. Play begins Monday in the Phil Lawler Classic summer state tournament.

Some first-round matchups to watch: Evergreen Park vs. Mount Carmel; Bradley-Bourbonnais vs. Oak Forest; and Argo vs. Richards. Shepard faces Evergreen Park in a pigtail game. The winner moves on to face Oak Lawn.

The regional title game will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Richards. The complete bracket appears on the IHSBCA website.

Richards Fall Sports Tryouts

Circle the date. Richards fall sports tryouts begin on Aug. 10. And that means the opening kickoff to a new high school football season can't be far off, either.
