Kick It on the Green with Five Guys Named Moe

Oak Lawn's Summer Concert on the Green features Five Guys Named Moe starting at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Calling all 'Moe-Heads'--get ready to kick on the Village Green tonight (Sunday) with Five Guys Named Moe.

The Moes bring their "Moeology" of classic rock, blues,, R&B and funk in the third of the Village of Oak Lawn and Oak Lawn Park District's outstanding summer concert series.

Five Guys Named Moe are one of the most exciting bands to come out of the Southwest Side and are a favorite at fests and clubs throughout the Chicago region. They perform a wide variety of music with their own twist and humor, including covers and originals.

A sampling of their playlist includes Santana, Kansas, B.T.O., Rare Earth, the Grass Roots, Foghat, Cryin' Shames, Blood, Sweat and Tears, and a whole lot more.

Featuring great choreography plus the energy of their fans--the Moe-Heads--get ready to jump on your feet and dance on the green.

The Moes include lead vocalist and horn player Jose Rivera (Big Moe); Bob Muraida (Slow Moe) on bass and vocals; Jack Inglis (AM-Moe) on piano, organ and synthethizer; lead and rhythm guitarist Frank Capek (Franken-Moe because he's a "monster on the guitar"); and Chuck Acosta (Wham-Moe) on drums and vocals.

August 19 - CTA-Chicago Transit Anthoogy (Chicago cover band) and fireworks show.

All shows run from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on the Village Green across from Oak Lawn Village Hall @9466 S. Raymond Ave.

The concerts are free. What a gift to Oak Lawn.

Five Guys Named Moe perform @7 p.m. Sunday, July 22, on the Village Green across from Oak Lawn Village Hall  @ 9466 S. Raymond Ave. Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Food will also be sold by Oak Lawn Boy Scouts.
