Oak Lawn Kicks Off Summer Concert Series With NETWORK

Grab your lawn chairs and coolers and head down to the Village Green for the classic rock and soul sounds of NETWORK tonight (Sunday, May 27).

and the t kick off their outstanding summer concert series tonight (Sunday) with the classic rock and soul band NETWORK.

These South Side lads have been together and performing for over 25 years. They were originally the "House Band" at the now defunct legendary Reilly's Daughter located on Chicago's South Side.

Expect to get on your feet and dance to NETWORK's wide ranging playlist including Van Morrisson, Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, The Bodeans, Poi Dog Pondering, Buster Poindexter, Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes, Motown and other oldies.

The band lineup includes Bob Cesario, lead vocals and percussion; Doug Alexander, guitar and vocals; Kent Kaled, bass guitar and vocals; Mike Ukinski: keyboards and vocals; Kevin Spell, drums; Tom Matuszak, saxophone and flute;
Fred Flaxmayer, trumpet, flute and saxophone; plus a host of auxillary bandmates and dropins.

This summer's Sunday night concert series features:

June 10 - M&R Rush(rock and roll)

June 24 - Hillbill Rock Starz (country)

July 8 - The Dancing Noodles (R&B cover)

July 22 - Five Guys Named Moe (classic rock)

August 5 - The Crawpuppies (alt. rock/rock/power pop)

August 19 - CTA-Chicago Transit Anthoogy (Chicago cover band) and fireworks show.

All shows run from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on the Village Green across from Oak Lawn Village Hall @9466 S. Raymond Ave.

The concerts are free. What a gift to Oak Lawn.

NETWORK performs @7 p.m. Sunday, May 27, on the Village Green across from Oak Lawn Village Hall  @ 9466 S. Raymond Ave. Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. Food will also be sold by Oak Lawn Boy Scouts.
