Bulldogs Run Off Childhood Cancer with 5K
The second annual Running With the Bulldogs 5K and a look at what else is happening in the area this weekend.
To help students become more active, Richards High School physical education teacher and cross-country coach Bob Peck started “Running With the Bulldogs,” a 5K race benefitting the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, last year with over 600 runners participating. The small race “with a big race atmosphere” features a professionally measured course, 13 different age groups with medals and trophies given to the top runners in each group. Last year, the inaugural “Running With the Bulldogs” 5K raised $10,800 for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation.
Runners receive a free T-shirt and complimentary food. Race registration open until 11:59 p.m. Friday. Pick up race packets before the race between 6:30-7:30 a.m.; race starts at 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21. For more info and to register online visit RunWiththeDogs.
