Grab a Brat and Beer at German Fest, Lederhosen Optional

This week "3 Things to Do in Chicago" highlights Lincoln Square's German fest, Wicker Park's Renegade Craft Fair and exercising with the animals at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Grab an enormous plastic stein of beer, a brat and celebrate your German-ness. (Not German, who cares? Everyone likes beer and brats, right?) German Day Festival runs from 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday in Lincoln Square at the corner of Lincoln and Leland. At 2 p.m. on Saturday there’s the Von Steuben German Day Parade. It starts at 4000 N Lincoln Ave., goes to Wilson, then continues north on Western and ends in the festival area. Extra points if you wear your lederhosen.
