SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 23

Steve Bobbit and the Young Turks -- A Rod Stewart Tribute
The Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W 111th St., will play host to the Rod Stewart Concert Experience featuring Steve Bobbitt and his band bring to life the look, sound, energy and star appeal of the music of Rod Stewart. Tickets are $19 and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Christmas Craft Show at Gloria Dei

Talented crafters and vendors converge at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 5259 S. Major Ave. Featured vendors include Avon, Tupperware, Miche Purses, Kal’s Cookies and a whole lot more. There’ll be lots of family fun including raffles, concessions and Santa will be hearing children’s wishes. Starts at 9 a.m.

Olivia's Garden Farmers Market

Olivia's Garden, an indoor heated greenhouse at Olivia's Garden is an indoor heated greenhouse located here, at 10730 S. Western, will host a farmers market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be free crafts and face painting for the kids. Available for purchase are soaps, scrubs, bows, jewelry, produce, fresh juice and plenty more.

Children’s Hunger Fund Toy Wrap

This year, hundreds of compassionate volunteers like you will join Children’s Hunger Fund to wrap tens of thousands of toys for children who might otherwise go without this Christmas. Come volunteer at the Chicago warehouse and you can be the difference between despair and hope! Register to volunteer. The wrapping event taks place at 17451Palmer Blvd., Homewood.

Hometown VFW Vendor Fair

Take care of everyone on your Christmas list at the Hometown VFW Vendor Fair at 9092 S. Main St., in Hometown. Dozens of vendors will be on hand selling their wares and refreshments are available for purchase, with all proceeds going to help veterans. Don’t forget to pick up some gifts for yourself. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

St. Linus Comedy Night

Pat Tomasulo of WGN-TV Morning News and Zanies’ Jeannie Doogan  and Michael Isaac are the featured stand-up acts at St. Linus Comedy Night, at 10400 S. Lawler Ave. in Oak Lawn. This over 21 event includes dinner and a cash bar. 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 at the door.

Share the Magic Toy Drive

Join the Share the Magic Toy Drive inspired by Barbara Y. Aguirre, who passed away in 2009. The toy drive was created by her children as a way to honor their wonderful mother. Last year over 800 toys were collected that were donated to South Suburban Crisis Center in Tinley Park; Advocate Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House. Meet a Beverly Author

Patrick Creevy discusses and signs his book, “Ryan's Woods,” at Author Afternoons at 2 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago. Creevy grew up in the Christ the King parish in the Beverly neighborhood, and the Dan Ryan Woods was the setting for many of his childhood adventures. Creevy will discuss and read from his book, based on his boyhood experiences fifty years ago, and talk about the process of writing in an interview with Penny Golden. 773-445-3838, www.beverlyartcenter.org.
