Gary Mentgen Bio

My name is Gary Mentgen, I am a 57-year-old, father of three, and a grandfather of two and have been married for 34 years. I have lived in Oak Lawn for 40 years. I have attended Saint Gerald, Saint Rene, Kennedy High, and graduated from AIT. I owned my first business at the age of 23. For the last 32 years, I have been a salesman for a Fortune 500 company, and a union steward for the last 20.
Since 1991 I have served on the Oak Lawn Business Development Commission. During that time, I was the subcommittee chairman for Shop Oak Lawn, and the Classic Car Show. I also have served on the advisory committee for the design of Stony Creek Golf Course, and a adult liaison for the design of Oak Lawn Skate Park. I also have enjoyed being a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader, an Oak Lawn softball coach and a baseball coach at Westside Baseball.
