Election 2011: Oak Lawn Community High School Dist. 229 Board of Education

Oak Lawn Community High School is the sole school in District 229 and serves portions of Bridgeview, Chicago Ridge, Hometown and Oak Lawn. Attendance boundaries are 87th Street on the north, 99th Street on the south, S.Pulaski Road/Crawford Avenue on the east and Harlem Avenue on the west—a rectangle 4 miles wide east and west, 1-1/2 miles long north and south.

The Dist. 229 school board meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of every month in room 119 at Oak Lawn Community High School, 9400 W. Southwest Highway. For meetings and minutes, click here.

The school board is comprised of seven members, each serving a four-year term. On April 5, residents living in Dist. 229 will be voting to fill three full-term seats, and one half-term seat.

Both races are contested. Four candidates are running for three 4-year term seats; two candidates are running for a 2-year term seat.
