There is always a reason for a price-increase - I can't remember ever reading about a reason for aRead More price-decrease. It's possible no one else has noticed this. Isn't capitalism wonderful?
mark April 17, 2014 at 06:39 am
The disease came from China! Aids came from Africa, other diseases come from Mexico but yet we letRead More people flood to this country and they bring those diseases with them!
kay sieverding April 17, 2014 at 08:56 am
The price of pork can also go up because the price of beef is up. It's not just weather andRead More disease, it's also cost of fuel.
Amanda Horn April 13, 2014 at 06:53 pm
Too bad TOBS didn't have good parents to teach him right from wrong. Hating is wrong. There are goodRead More and bad in every group. I think I'm a little late. You've got to be taught to hate, before you're six, or seven, or eight...so the song goes.
Tired of the B.S. April 14, 2014 at 09:57 am
Amanda, you said, on one of your earlier posts, Amanda Horn March 25, 2014 at 10:03 PM "HowRead More miserable it would be to insist that everyone have the same lifestyle, views, politics, etc. as me." Too bad that if you are white, not gay, not liberal, or don't conform your beliefs to which ever way the winds are blowing, you seem to insist that those people are, in some way, wrong and full of hate. By the way, I have wonderful parents, who did teach me right from wrong. I just don't change the way I feel to try to fit in with the liberal way of thinking. Another thing that they taught me was "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me."

Tired of B.S. - This might not be on your top priority list, but it's on the top of other people's.Read More Keep that in mind.

Pat - not many people want to spend their hard earned money on a meal with loud, obnoxious ,Read More ignorant clientele. Screaming at waitress , yelling for manager and the list goes on. All before police arrive. I'll get carry out! Thanks anyway
Dave April 10, 2014 at 06:58 pm
I wouldn't even take my ex wife there lol
OakLawnGuy April 10, 2014 at 08:00 pm
I hear about places in Oak Lawn that provide xx jobs for local residents, but I'd like to hear whatRead More percentage of each business's employees reside here. Because in many cases, it's not much.
Jimmy Fallon
Lenny Kravitz April 1, 2014 at 10:49 pm
Anyone but Phillips Chevrolet. I got screwed at Phillips. I picked-out a truck, put down a $200 cashRead More deposit and came back the next day to find they sold my truck to someone else. Cheeseballs.
Interested resident April 2, 2014 at 09:01 am
That is a shame Lenny Kravitz. I'm sorry to hear that. The patch says Fallon will buy the truckRead More for the rep (in quotes). My understanding is that he is going to buy a truck from the rep. He said last Friday night that he didn't want to make it that easy for the sale.
william savick April 2, 2014 at 03:35 pm
Question Lenny Kravitz; Did you get your $200. back?

Who cares what a bunch of reddit commenters have to say about it? What did potential EMPLOYERSRead More have to say about her idea?

Only 4 percent of adults and 4 percent of children suffer peanut allergies ...
Vicky Kujawa March 19, 2014 at 10:02 pm
If someone was allergic to nuts they would not be able to be on this board lol!
Diana Flores March 21, 2014 at 01:16 pm
wow I can't believe that only one piece of candy had a peanut out of the 24 candies in the box!
Chris M. March 18, 2014 at 12:04 pm
I think it's great that you post jobs that are available in the community and surrounding areas.Read More When my son was looking for a job 5 years ago, I wish this list on Patch did exist. Thank you!
James P. McMahon March 19, 2014 at 08:03 pm
Great idea. Let's ban tobacco and legalize marijuana. Makes sense to me!
Garrett Fifer March 23, 2014 at 05:27 pm
To all the people making the, "But they also sell alcohol!" argument. You must not beRead More aware that alcohol kills only a small fraction of people when compared to tobacco. According to the CDC, excessive alcohol consumption (key-word being excessive) leads to 88,000 deaths annually; while tobacco is responsible for 480,000 (almost a half-million) deaths annually. Furthermore, alcohol can be safely consumed in moderation without a large risk of addiction or cancer. In fact, alcohol (especially red wine) has health benefits. Tobacco has not one single health benefit and the most common outcome of consuming it is addiction, chronic illness, and shortened life expectancy. Tobacco companies profit off addiction. So please, take your uneducated comparisons elsewhere.
Greg Alan March 24, 2014 at 09:48 am
Not arguing here, about the facts of tobacco, and how it kills people. Not comparing alcohol, toRead More tobacco, & which 'drug' kills MORE people. People make CHOICES to buy these items. People also choose to drink irresponsibly, and kill, injure, & affect families, when they choose to DRINK & DRIVE! Smokers affect their own health! Which is more evil? I agree with Tony!

Luther......Again I'm honored! Feel free to use my words anytime. I realize it's tough for theRead More feeble minded to come up with their own fresh thoughts! I thought I was Phelan. Now I'm confused.
Luther March 15, 2014 at 11:03 am
Your confused. Not only am I Bob, Den, Dave, Larry and I'm pretty sure someone else that I've lostRead More track of. I also seem to move quite frequently. Going from District 3, to 2, back to 3.
wren March 15, 2014 at 05:45 pm
Well, whichever incarnation you are, why don't you do something about the Board not knowing aboutRead More the last remaining business over there, and why they are still actually there! That'd be great. Thanks.
rita olsen March 6, 2014 at 07:47 pm

Given all of the things I have to worry about today I am sure glad that tainted nuts isn't one ofRead More them.
Oliver P. McCracken March 6, 2014 at 09:33 am
I thought folks were complaining that The Patch no longer had an editor? If there is no editor, thenRead More who deleted my nuts-&-taint-tainted remark?
