The Oak Lawn police department pledges excellence, initiative and integrity in its duties to enhance the quality of…More life, safety and security for each resident and business throughout the village. </p> <p>The village police force constantly strives to promote mutual trust, respect and accountability to the residents, institutions and business community of Oak Lawn. </p> <p>The department is comprised of an investigations division, including juvenile, financial crimes, auto theft and gang units; a patrol division; and traffic, K-9 and animal control units.</p> <p>Village police also engage the community and offer many proactive community programs designed to heighten public safety, including the D.A.R.E. program that visits local elementary schools and educates students on the dangers of drug addiction; a teen peer jury, bike patrol, citizen's police academy, gang education, a police cadets, police club, safety talks and child ID and child passenger safety. </p> <p>Village police work to uphold the principles embodied in the U.S. constitution and local laws, yet remain sensitive to human needs by treating people with respect, compassion and dignity. </p> <p>Residents and businesses should call 911 to report crimes in progress and life threatening emergencies. </p> <p>For crimes that are not in progress and other questions, call the police department's non-emergency number. </p> <p> </p>

St. Catherine of Alexandria is a parish in Oak Lawn where people come to practice their faith and to support one…More another. Parish members volunteer at the local homeless shelter, collect food for the community's pantries and support local and international missions.  </p> <p>St. Catherine's offers a men's club, Eucharistic ministry, music ministry, a Hoping Society that anonymously helps people in need, a support group for widows and widowers, a seniors group and a teen group that travels to impoverished communities in the United States to perform mission work.</p> <p>Daily mass is offered six days a week, as well weekend masses.
