POLICE BLOTTER: One-Minute Burglary, Assault On a Car, Peddler Pinched

Oak Lawn police reports January 28 through January 30.

THURSDAY JANUARY 31 A team of thieves was captured on security video stealing a laptop computer from a car that was parked in the Walgreen’s parking lot at 4740 W. 95th St. The 20-year-old victim told police she noticed her trunk was open when she returned to her car around 11:09 p.m. Police said that security video showed a dark colored car circling the parking lot and then parking in the space next to the victim's car at approximately 11:03 p.m. By then the woman was inside the store. A male wearing all dark clothing got out and pulled open the woman’s passenger door and entered her car. A second male wearing a dark jacket got out and waited by the woman’s trunk until it popped open,and took her book bag. Both subjects got into their car…

My car stereos were stolen outside the house in the middle of the night and from the Orange Line parking lot when I was at work that day. Dollar Store Distrubance Leads to Assault Charges

University Park truck driver yelled and swore at employee, threw pallet off truck, cops say. Plus the week's crime headlines.

A delivery truck driver who screamed, swore and yelled at dollar store employees was charged with assault, reports said. Oak Lawn Police arrived at the Dollar Tree store at 8727 S. Ridgeland Ave., in response to a report of a disturbance around 2:59 p.m. Jan. 25. _Sign up for Oak Lawn Patch breaking news alerts._ Employees said the driver, identified as Edward P. Easter, 42, of University Park, had set up the roller line and began moving products off the truck. Family Thinks Brother Found Unconscious Was Beaten

Family of Oak Lawn man found unconscious with bruises all over his body wants answers. Police trying to determine if he was beaten or had accident.

Oak Lawn police want to know how a 51-year-old man came to receive severe head injuries after he was found slumped on his front doorstep where he had apparently been lying unconscious all night. Man Let Pit Bull Attack Mom Three Times, Cops Say

Mother thought she was going to die, police said. Twenty-one-year-old son being held in Cook County Jail on $20,000 bail.

A 21-year-old man faces felony charges after police said he let his pet pit bull attack his mother multiple times, reports said. Jeremy Rusin, 21, of the 4900 block of West 91st St. was charged with battery, domestic battery and assault. He is being held on $20,000 bail at the Cook County Jail. Spitting, Swearing Portillo Diners Charged With Assault and Battery

Cops say employees banded together to toss alleged obnoxious patrons out of restaurant.

  Three Chicago residents were arrested on assorted assault and battery charges following a New Year’s Day disturbance at an Oak Lawn restaurant, reports said. Oak Lawn police were dispatched to Portillo’s restaurant at 4020 W. 95th St. around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 1, after it was reported that several unauthorized people were behind the counter. Hooters Diner Dust Up Leads to Assault and Battery Charges

Parolee and pal mix it up with off-duty Oak Lawn detective and Cook County Corrections officer, police say.

An altercation with an off-duty Oak Lawn police detective moonlighting as a security guard led to assault and battery charges for a parolee and his pal. Police said woman fought bouncers and spit in a bartender's face when they were asked to leave the bar.

TUESDAY AUGUST 28 An assault complaint was signed against a professional dancer after she threatened to “slap the s---“ out of a diner at an Oak Lawn restaurant, reports said. Police were called to Sushi Tyme at 4959 W. 95th St. at 9 p.m. in response to a reported threat. According to police, a 26-year-old man having dinner with his mother. At the next table Ruth B. Burns, 26, of Itasca, was dining with three girlfriends. During dinner, the man said that Burns and her girlfriends were being obnoxious and rude to the staff, reports said. POLICE BLOTTER: Hospital Assault, Probation Violator Tazed

Oak Lawn police reports June 19 to June 20.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 20 Oak Lawn Police showed up twice at Advocate Christ Medical Center at 4440 W. 95th St. because of a disruptive patient, reports said. Officers went to the hospital at 3:15 a.m. when a patient, Anthony L. Taylor, 42, of Chicago, who had been put in restraints, threatened the nurse caring for him, police said. The nurse wanted to report the incident as a matter of record. Police were back an hour later at 4:20 a.m., when hospital staff reported that Taylor was still acting belligerent and threatening staff, according to the report. SATURDAY, APRIL 28 A local woman called police to report that she was driving down the 9500 block of South Minnick Avenue around 10:12 p.m. when she encountered two men “staggering” in the middle of the street, reports said. She was on the phone with her husband and was waiting for them to get out of her way so she could drive around them. One of the men yelled something so she got out of her car and confronted them. Police said that Michael M. Boll, 25, of Oak Lawn, got in the woman’s face, and began yelling and waving his arms. The woman hung up on her husband and called police.
