Spitting, Swearing Portillo Diners Charged With Assault and Battery

Cops say employees banded together to toss alleged obnoxious patrons out of restaurant.

  Three Chicago residents were arrested on assorted assault and battery charges following a New Year’s Day disturbance at an Oak Lawn restaurant, reports said. Oak Lawn police were dispatched to Portillo’s restaurant at 4020 W. 95th St. around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 1, after it was reported that several unauthorized people were behind the counter. Evergreen Park Fugitives Nabbed in Oak Lawn, Cops Say

Police picked up two people wanted on warrants during separate incidents.

Two Evergreen Park fugitives were taken into police custody last month in two separate incidents. A Burbank man was a passenger in a car that was stopped by Oak Lawn police after the driver of the vehicle was stopped allegedly for speeding on the 4900 block of West 95th Street around 1:07 a.m. Dec. 23. Greenwood According to the police report, the driver was in a hurry to get home and told police he was not aware he was going 50mph in a 30mph speed zone. Hooters Diner Dust Up Leads to Assault and Battery Charges

An altercation with an off-duty Oak Lawn police detective moonlighting as a security guard led to assault and battery charges for a parolee and his pal. Cops Tase Man Breaking Up Christ Hospital Fight

Police respond to fight in progress between security staff and large group of visitors at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

Oak Lawn police arrested two people in connection to a fight at Advocate Christ Medical Center when visitors refused to leave a patient’s room, reports said. Security staff told police that approximately 20 visitors, who all came to visit the same patient, had been told several times to limit the number of guests in the patient’s room. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13 A disturbance at an Oak Lawn elementary school brought in police when a parent became upset with school staff. Administrators told police the parent came to drop off his child at Sward Elementary School at 9830 S. Metra Station Fight Leads to Battery Charge

Melee had apparently started day before when commuter threatened man on train, cops say.

A 53-year-old Oak Lawn man was charged with battery following a skirmish at the Metra Station at 5120 Museum Drive. Oak Lawn police arrested Lawrence R. Drummond in a bank parking lot on the 5100 block of West 95th Street, after determining he had been the aggressor in an altercation with a fellow commuter, reports said. Movie-Loving Shoplifter Flees Store With 27 DVDs, Cops Say

Chicago Ridge man charged with felony retail theft and battery after he shoved a loss prevention officer at the Oak Lawn Kmart store, police say.

A man who packed a plastic storage bin with 27 DVDs and ran out of a big box store was charged with felony retail theft, reports said. Oak Lawn police responded to Kmart at 4101 W. 95th St. to pick up a man identified as Joe W. Pursley, 28, of Chicago Ridge, after a store loss prevention officer chased him down in the parking lot. Pursley was spotted by security entering the store around 5:40 p.m. Sept. 21 and looking up at the ceiling toward security cameras, police said. After removing a plastic storage bin from a shelf, police said that Pursley proceeded to the electronics department, where a loss prevention officer observed him filling the bin with DVD movies. Intoxicated Man Kicks Out Cop Car Window, Police Say

An Oak Lawn man with a history of “fighting with police and a combative demeanor” was charged with felony criminal damage to property after he kicked out the rear passenger window in a village police car, reports said.
