A two-car early morning accident on 115th Street left two people dead and one hospitalized, according to the Tribune.
Two people are dead and one hospitalized after an early morning car crash in Mount Greenwood, according to reports. Around 2:20 a.m. a car crossed the center lane and struck another vehilcle traveling in the opposite direction head-on in the 3400 block of 115th Street, the Chicago Tribune reports. The report states that two males were killed and a female was hospitalized in serious condition. Update, 6:50 p.m. - The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has released the names of the two men killed in accident. They were Demetrius Caples, 28, of the 9200 block of South Vanderpoel Avenue, and Sean Larmon, 36, of the 10800 block of South Whipple Street. The Oak Lawn woman was hit on the driver's side as she made a turn onto 135th Street Tuesday afternoon.
An elderly woman died several hours after a car accident in Palos Heights Tuesday afternoon, police said. Sign up for Oak Lawn Patch breaking news alerts. Shirley Ronan, 81, of Oak Lawn, was turning onto eastbound 135th Street from Forest Ridge Drive around 2:30 p.m. when a car traveling westbound struck her on the driver's side door, Deputy Chief Dave Delaney said. Ronan was making a left turn, which is not allowed at that intersection, Delaney said. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead about eight hours later, Delaney said. Four others were injured in a single-car accident in the 6200 block of West 183rd Street in Tinley, according to police.
UPDATE (4:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14) An Alsip teenager was killed and four others were injured after a single-car crash late Saturday night in the 6200 block of West 183rd Street in Tinley park, a police release stated. A 2008 Pontiac G6 was traveling westbound on West 183rd Street at 11:38 p.m. Saturday and left the roadway, rolling several times before coming to rest in Cook County Forest Preserve property on the north side of the road, according to a Tinley Park Police Department release. Megan Elam, 18, of Alsip, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at 12:28 a.m. Sunday at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.
