Blotter: Stolen Car Used in Armed Robbery Recovered, Man Bloodied in Home Invasion

Oak Lawn police reports, Dec. 18 through Dec. 28.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28 A stolen 1994 Buick used in an armed robbery in Chicago Ridge was recovered after it crashed into an Oak Lawn police car during a police chase. Police went to speak to the 64-year-old owner whose car was recovered around 12:58 a.m. Dec. 28. The owner said he did not give anyone permission to drive it, reports said. Police said that Anthony L. Armour, 24, of Chicago, used the car to commit an armed robbery in Chicago Ridge. Armour crashed the stolen vehicle into a village police car on the 9500 block of South Meade Avenue while being pursued by Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn police. Tahoe Swiped From Service Department

A 2010 Chevy Tahoe was reported stolen from the Webb Chevrolet service department.

A 2010 Chevy Tahoe that was being serviced at Webb Chevrolet, 9440 S. Cicero Ave., was reported stolen by the service department after its owner came to pick up his car around 5:06 p.m. Aug. 23. Police said that an employee parked the car in the parking lot after it had been serviced and placed the vehicle’s keys on the service office counter. When the owner came for his car, both it and the keys were missing, reports said. Police reviewed security video, which showed a male black hanging around the service department when the Tahoe was brought in. The video showed the man entering the office where the keys were left and walk out a short time later. The man was then seen on camera in the parking lot getting into the Tahoe and driving off. …

Police Botter: Accidental Caning, Handicap Space Squabble and More

Oak Lawn police reports from July 5 though July 12.

THURSDAY JULY 12 A 70-year-old woman signed a battery complaint against an Oak Lawn man who police said hit her in the head with a cane, police said. The woman said she found a man identified as Donald G. Henry, 52, sleeping her garage on the 5700 block of West 89th Street. When she woke Henry up and told him to leave, police said he hit the woman on the side of the head with his cane. The officer noticed a red swollen bump on the woman’s head and called the Oak Lawn Fire Department. Henry allegedly told police that when he was leaving he lost his balance and accidentally hit the woman on the head with his cane. He was arrested and taken to the Oak Lawn Police Department. POLICE BLOTTER: Woman's Ride Ripped Off While at Church, 'Clotheslined' Behind St. James Place

Oak Lawn police reports, June 11 through June 17.

SUNDAY JUNE 17 A 2011 Hyundai Sonata was stolen from a church parking lot while its owner was inside attending a church service on June 17. According to reports, the 52-year-old owner parked the car in the First Church of God parking lot at 4600 W. 111th St. for morning services. When she came back out, the car was gone. Oak Lawn Police said the woman was current on her payments and that no one else had a key or her permission to use the car. Officers found no signs of forced entry into the car or broken glass in the lot. Upon questioning, the woman told police that she was estranged from her daughter but had seen her recently. Police said the woman contacted them at the station later in the day to say that her car’s spare key was missing …

POLICE: Pajama-Clad Woman Heists Car From Webb Chevy

Police believe male accomplice may possibly have followed stolen Suburban in "chase car," reports said.

A black woman wearing multi-colored pajama bottoms walked on to a car dealership lot and heisted a 2011 gold Chevy Suburban on May 11, reports said. Oak Lawn police were called to Webb Chevrolet at 9440 S. Cicero Ave. around 8:16 a.m. While en route, police were advised that a Chevy Suburban with no plates was heading westbound down 95th Street driven by a black woman, and that a second vehicle, possibly a chase car, may also be involved.
