Good afternoon Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, staff, families, friends, and graduates: today is a bittersweet day. While today marks the beginning of a new chapter of our lives, it is also the end of our high school career, our glory days. Because of our teachers here and the people in our lives who have supported us throughout these four years, we have been given the opportunity to experience this amazing place. I have grown tremendously these past four years, and I can say with confidence that everyone graduating today has also been impacted by the McAuley experience. Mother McAuley Valedictorian Shares Memories, Vision for the Future

Hear Lauren Gabel's favorite moments from school.

Graduation season may be over, but Patch would still like to congratulate the Class of 2011 for crossing into the next journey of life. We caught up with Mother McAuley valedictorian, Lauren Gabel, to hear all about her most fond high school memories and plans for the future. Evergreen Park Patch: What was your most memorable High School moment? Lauren Gabel: My most memorable high school moment was attending the McAuley Spring 2011 Appalachia Mission Trip. We were able to fix up a family's house, including giving a young girl her very own, personalized bedroom. Brother Rice High School Valedictorian Speech

Valedictorian Connor Fitzgerald shared his memories of the last four years and excitement to be one of the many members of the Brother Rice Alumni family. With less than a week out of school, Brother Rice High School graduate and 2011 valedictorian Connor Fitzgerald has big plans for the future. Richards High Graduation: Awards and Honors

Parents couldn't have been prouder of their children's achievements.

Graduates of Richards High School spent 113,880 hours in school, said class president Holly Brezna. That doesn't include activities, sports or homework done outside after the last bell rang, she added. For many students that night, however, their extra work paid off, as they received awards for outstanding academic achievement. Seniors say, 'goodbye yellow' and black 'brick road.' Hello college, armed forces and working life.

Yellow and black. Two colors near opposite ends of the spectrum that you wouldn't think of putting together, except when students at Richards High School dawned them proudly during graduation on Thursday night. After four years of academics, clubs, sports and social life, students said goodbye to their high school lives and hello to the future. Many will head off to college, some will join the armed forces and others will hit the ground working. But as they move on to to bigger-and-better things, the Class of 2011 couldn't help but smile, hug their friends and listen to their families shout from the bleachers. The Graduates: Big Plans for Marist High School Honorees

Hundreds of snapshots, smiles and goodbyes floated through Marist High School last week. It was a bittersweet evening for the Class of 2011 and their parents – one when teachers and administrators alike told graduates they'll always have a home at MHS. And for the school's valedictorian and salutatorian, it was the last time they represented their high school as students. “I'm always going to love Marist, and the people I met,” said salutatorian Jennifer Corcoran, who recalled her time as a cross-country runner, student ambassador and Pro-Life club member. Along with academics, Corcoran pointed out, joining clubs influenced her social skills for the better. “It sounds cliché, but get involved,” Corcoran said. “Many of my friends were from …

Brother Rice graduates celebrate their commencement Thursday at the Shannon Center located at St. Xavier University. Excited beyond belief, 242 students received their "pass" to the next stage in life. Faculty gave the final diploma to parents of Jarrett Xavier Rowe, who died in September 2010.

Oak Lawn Community High School: 2011 Graduation

Oak Lawn Community High School held its graduation exercises on May 18 at Saint Xavier University. Clad in Kelly-green gowns, the school colors, the Class of 2011 marched into the Shannon Center in front of proud parents and grandparents.
