Vorberg Violates House Arrest, Lands Back in Jail, Sheriff Says

Man charged with public indecency stepped outside when he wasn't supposed to while wearing electronic ankle bracelet, cops say.

An Oak Lawn man charged with two felony counts of public indecency is back behind bars. Cook County Sheriff’s Police took Daniel Vorberg, 30, into custody after he violated the terms of electronic monitoring. He was back in jail as of Tuesday. Connect with Patch: Oak Lawn / Beverly-Mt. Greenwood / Evergreen Park Vorberg, of Oak Lawn, was arrested on May 1, one day after Chicago police said he was spotted fondling and exposing himself near Cassel Elementary School in Mt. Greenwood. If convicted he faces up to 12 years in prison. The witness who reported the incident told police that Vorberg was sitting in a parked car holding up his cell phone and masturbating while six young children played nearby. Man’s Ear Bitten Off in Domestic Dispute, Cops Say

Cops say Justice man leaned in and bit off piece of victim's ear in domestic dispute.

A 28-year-old Justice man bit a piece of another man’s ear off during a domestic dispute, authorities said. Richard Vody of the 7800 block of Garden Lane, was charged with home invasion, aggravated battery and domestic battery. Vody is currently out of jail on a $250,000 bond. Cook County Sheriff’s Police received a call about 8:45 a.m. Friday for a domestic battery in the 200 block of Walnut in unincorporated Justice. Officers said that Vody was found at the scene, along with the 26-year-old victim from Westchester, and the victim’s girlfriend, who lived at the residence. Authorities said all three knew each other. Vody forced his way into the residence. After arguing with the victim, Vody leaned into the victim and bit off about half of …

Cook County Sheriff Warns of Lottery Scam Targeting Elderly

Elderly victims cleaned out of $170,000 collectively in south suburbs from UK lottery scam.

If you didn’t buy a lotto ticket in the United Kingdom lottery but are getting badgered with emails and phone calls that you’re a winner, contact your local police department immediately. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart warns residents not to be fooled by recent scams where “winners” are being told they are entitled to a large lottery cash prize without ever having purchased a ticket.
