2 Found Dead of Apparent Gunshot Wounds in Burbank Home

CBS-2 News reporting that authorities are investigating the deaths of two elderly adults as a murder-suicide.

Burbank Police and the Southwest Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are conducting a death investigation into two adults discovered inside a home in the 6400 block of West 83rd Place. Police officers found an 80-year-old female and 78-year-old male in a bedroom while conducting a well-being check around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Both were declared dead at the scene with apparent gunshot wounds, a police news release said. Officers at the scene said there were no signs of forced entry into the home. I have lived in Burbank since 1974, yes it is changing along with Oak Lawn (Hooters) is another place known for trouble and other small towns around us. I feel lucky that the block I live on is still very nice, east of central. I walk my dog late at night and carry a weapon just in case. :) Self protection is a must now!   more ›

Autopsy for Alleged Beating Victim Set for Tuesday

Police say they are waiting for Cook County Medical Examiner's report to determine cause of death for 51-year-old man who died five days after he was found unconscious in front of Oak Lawn home.

An autopsy has been scheduled for an Oak Lawn man who died under mysterious circumstances at the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office on Tuesday morning. His family believe that he may have been beaten after being dropped off at home sometime after 1 a.m. Jan. 30. Family members said that Reichert had gone to watch his brother compete in a pool league at Town Lounge in Hometown last Tuesday evening. Until you work a trauma like this you may not realize the the doctors and nurses are worried about saving a life not where the clothes went after they cut everything off. Not that we know what happened but again until you have worked a few years in trauma you would be surprised at what a fall can do.   more ›
