Christmas Map: Your Guide to the Best Decorations in Town
We put together a map and route suggestions for the best Christmas decorations in Beverly, Mt. Greenwood, Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn.
What better way to celebrate the holidays than a leisurely drive through the neighborhood spent admiring Christmas decorations? Thanks to our Facebook fans we came up with a list of great houses to gawk at this holiday season. Many of the homes are described by general block numbers. Use our suggestions to plan your route and enjoy the ride. We suggest you start off at one end of 95th Street and wind your way down to the other. The homes on the 9900 block of S. Campbell are all decorated with handmade decorations, so a nice stroll down that block is recommended. Do you go all out with the Christmas decorations? We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16. CLICK HERE FOR THE CONTEST PAGE Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner.
