Police: Chicago Ridge Man Attempted to Pull Englewood Girl Into Van

An area resident has been charged with trying to abduct a child in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago.

An Oak Lawn man tried to grab an underage girl and pull her into his van last week, according to reports.  David Brown, 60, of the 6400 block of W. 102nd Place, was charged with felony attempted kidnapping, according to Sun-Times Media.  Police say Brown approached a girl in his van on the 1900 block of West 63rd Street, made a lewd gesture with his tongue and then tried to grab her, the report states.  The girl freed herself and began to scream while Brown drove off. Police found a van matching the description several miles away and the victim identified Brown, the report says.  Catch up on the week's crime blotter:
