Man’s Ear Bitten Off in Domestic Dispute, Cops Say

Cops say Justice man leaned in and bit off piece of victim's ear in domestic dispute.

A 28-year-old Justice man bit a piece of another man’s ear off during a domestic dispute, authorities said. Richard Vody of the 7800 block of Garden Lane, was charged with home invasion, aggravated battery and domestic battery. Vody is currently out of jail on a $250,000 bond. Cook County Sheriff’s Police received a call about 8:45 a.m. Friday for a domestic battery in the 200 block of Walnut in unincorporated Justice. Officers said that Vody was found at the scene, along with the 26-year-old victim from Westchester, and the victim’s girlfriend, who lived at the residence. Blotter: Stolen Car Used in Armed Robbery Recovered, Man Bloodied in Home Invasion

Oak Lawn police reports, Dec. 18 through Dec. 28.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28 A stolen 1994 Buick used in an armed robbery in Chicago Ridge was recovered after it crashed into an Oak Lawn police car during a police chase. Police went to speak to the 64-year-old owner whose car was recovered around 12:58 a.m. Dec. 28. The owner said he did not give anyone permission to drive it, reports said. Police said that Anthony L. Armour, 24, of Chicago, used the car to commit an armed robbery in Chicago Ridge. Armour crashed the stolen vehicle into a village police car on the 9500 block of South Meade Avenue while being pursued by Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn police. Chicago Ridge Deputy Fire Chief Charged With Attempted Murder

Deputy fire chief faces multiple charges after police say he attacked a woman in a Tinley Park home invasion.

A Tinley Park woman was attacked in her home in the early morning hours of Saturday by a man wielding a knife. Police arrested a man matching the description of the attacker in the condominium parking lot who they identifed as Gary M. Swiercz.  Connect with Patch: Evergreen Park / Oak Lawn / Beverly-Mt. Strangers With Cameras Barge In On Home Alone Kids

Boys tell cops strangers walked around home taking pictures and reminiscing about old times.

Judge Orders More Fingerprinting in Buell Court Home Invasion Case

Cook County Judge Colleen Ann Hyland warned prosecutors that the next round of fingerprinting of the three defendants in the 2011 Buell Court home invasion case will be the last.

Authorities want to identify a fingerprint found on a magazine in the botched Buell Court home invasion case that ended in the shooting of a woman last August, prosecutors told a Cook County judge Tuesday. Prowler Steals Wallet in Home Invasion

Homeowner startled prowler coming out of kitchen who used hidden key to enter home, police said.

A homeowner encountered a prowler coming out of the kitchen during the early morning hours of April 18. Oak Lawn police said the homeowner woke up around 5 a.m. after he heard someone open the front door of his home on the 4100 block of West 99th Street. Initially thinking it was his son coming home, the homeowner poked his head out the screen door to see if his son had gone back to retrieve something from his car. When he did not see his son outside, the homeowner encountered a man walking toward him from the kitchen. Police said the homeowner startled the man, who told him he was looking for “PJ.” The man quickly walked by and left through the front door. Rendezvous With Personal Masseuse Has Unhappy Ending

Couple tries to rob man who ordered "female companion" for personal massage off the Internet.

A 46-year-old man didn’t get what he asked for when ordering a personal masseuse over the Internet. Oak Lawn police responded to a call of a home invasion in an apartment complex on the 10400 block of South Circle Drive at 5:39 p.m. Dec. 11. According to the report, the man obtained a phone number with a Cayman Islands area code that he got off a classified ad website called backstage.com under "adult" services. The man called the number in the ad and requested a “white female companion.” About an hour later, he heard a buzz at the door of his apartment complex. A woman said she was there for the massage. Surgical Mask-wearing Intruders Flee After Homeowner Scares Them Away

Burglars enter Oak Lawn resident's yard on McVicker Avenue by cutting a hole in her fence. Men fled when elderly homeowner yelled at them after they were inside her home.

An elderly Oak Lawn homeowner scared off two men after they broke into her home on the 9500 block of South McVicker Avenue around 5 p.m. Aug. 23. The homeowner told police she heard several loud bangs from the rear of the house and yelled, “Who’s back there?” She walked outside and saw two men flee the house through a door that had been locked. Both men ran through a hole they had cut in the fence, Oak Lawn police said. A neighbor reported that he was in his home across the alley having supper when he saw two men running to a brown SUV that sped away. Police looked around but could not find the men, who were both said to be wearing blue surgical masks. The homeowner said that nothing appeared to be missing from her home.

Three Charged in Oak Lawn Home Invasion

Charges have been brought against three men who police said went to an Oak Lawn home with the intent to commit armed robbery. The home was targeted in a similar armed robbery last November.

Police arrested and charged three men nabbed after a home invasion in which a woman was shot. The crime has rocked a quiet neighborhood in Oak Lawn. Three men were arrested after leading police from multiple towns on a car chase that ended in Summit early Wednesday morning. One fugitive remains at large. Timmie Walton, 26, of Midlothian, and Keon Thigpen, 22, and Kennedy Clark, 50, both of Chicago, have been charged with attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping and home invasion. Woman Shot During Oak Lawn Home Invasion

After someone shot at the home invaders with a shotgun, they fled and were chased by police. The cops caught three men. A fourth remains at large. The victim has been released from the hospital.

A 24-year-old woman was shot during a home invasion early Wednesday morning on the 10000 block of Buell Court. Oak Lawn police responded to a 911 call of person shot around 12:15 a.m. The woman was shot in the arm by one of three armed men, police said in a press release. Police said that a male relative of the wounded woman fired a shotgun at the three home invaders but missed. The men fled to a waiting blue SUV. Moments later, an Oak Lawn police officer tried to stop the SUV matching the description at 95th Street and Central Avenue.
