Double Bust at Hooters

An off-duty police officer breaks up two separate dine-and-dash attempts at Hooters, cops say.

Diners were charged in two separate thefts after they attempted to run out of an Oak Lawn restaurant without paying their bill, reports said. Oak Lawn police responded to a reported dine-and-dash at Hooters at 9159 S. Cicero Ave. around 10:21 April 30. A table of three women and one man finished eating their meal and were talking amongst themselves when they all got up and left without paying their $91.30 tab, police said. An employee notified the off-duty police officer working security that the party of four was leaving in a blue Chevy Equinox, according to the report. Hooters of America plans makeovers for its 400 U.S. restaurants. Local Hooters guests can look forward to enhanced seat padding and maybe video gambling.

Hooters of Oak Lawn guests will soon be able to dine and dash and abuse staff (allegedly) in a classier and more refined Hooters environment. The 30-year-old restaurant chain best known for its spicy wings and Hooters girls will bust out its new look over the next five years at its 400 U.S. restaurants, Time Business and Money reported. POLICE BLOTTER: Pop Pinching, Hooters Hijinx

Oak Lawn police reports Dec. 28 through Dec. 30.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 30 A 38-year-old woman was charged with felony retail theft for allegedly stealing 17 cases of pop from Jewel-Osco at 8801 S. Ridgeland Ave. A loss prevention officer spotted Traci L. Kay, of Palos Heights, loading up a cart with pop around 3:45 p.m., police said. Kay was confronted outside the store and detained. Police said Kay has stolen from the store on numerous occasions. At the Oak Lawn police station, Kay allegedly admitted to stealing cases of pop as well as laundry soap, and selling the hot goods to stores in Chicago. Kay was scheduled for preliminary hearing on Jan. 1 at the time of this report. Hooters Diner Dust Up Leads to Assault and Battery Charges

Parolee and pal mix it up with off-duty Oak Lawn detective and Cook County Corrections officer, police say.

An altercation with an off-duty Oak Lawn police detective moonlighting as a security guard led to assault and battery charges for a parolee and his pal. Gang Members Flash Signs at Hooter's Patrons, Cops Say

Witness said men were flashing gang signs in middle of the street, holding what appeared to be handgun, police say.

A man who was dining at Hooter’s called police when he observed five men flashing gang signs and possibly a handgun around 5:35 p.m. Sept. 16, Oak Lawn police said. Dispatch advised that a man in a silver Dodge Charger was seen with what appeared to be a black handgun, reports said. Women Spew Obscenities, Fight Hooters Staff, Cops Say

Women yelled and cursed staff, refused to pay bill after being caught dining and dashing, police say.

Two women face charges following a spree of disorderly behavior at Hooters, reports said. Oak Lawn police reported to a disturbance at 9139 S. Cicero Ave., around 11:50 p.m. Aug. 31. When they arrived at the restaurant, police said they were met by the manager and encountered two women yelling at another Hooters employee. Police: Diners' Refusal to Pay Customer Service Fee Leads to Assault Charges at Hooters

Police said men threatened manager as she attempted to take down family group members' plate numbers.

Two men were arrested and charged with assault after police said they threatened a restaurant manager for writing down their license plate numbers when their group attempted to leave without paying the bill. Oak Lawn police said Corliss B. Holland, 51, of Chicago, and DeAngelo Holeman, 25, of Streamwood, were part of a large family group that entered Hooters at 9139 S. Police say people were screaming, fighting and running in all directions when they arrived.

Hooters Manager Says Four Adults Dined and Dashed

Oak Lawn police charge two men and two women with theft of service.

Oak Lawn police stopped a car occupied by four adults who reportedly ran out on their $50.18 bill at Hooters on Sept. 5. Jarrell A. Densmore, 27, Romell Funches, 28, and Seretas Sanderson, 27, all of Chicago, and Tamekkia L. Moore, 32, of South Holland, were charged with theft of service. The manager of the Hooters restaurant at 9159 S. Cicero Ave. in Oak Lawn told police that the foursome came into the restaurant around 6:45 p.m. and ordered wings and drinks. One of the women told the manager that their waitress forgot to bring dipping sauces for their wings, according to the police report.
