An area resident has been charged with trying to abduct a child in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago.
An Oak Lawn man tried to grab an underage girl and pull her into his van last week, according to reports. David Brown, 60, of the 6400 block of W. 102nd Place, was charged with felony attempted kidnapping, according to Sun-Times Media. Police say Brown approached a girl in his van on the 1900 block of West 63rd Street, made a lewd gesture with his tongue and then tried to grab her, the report states. The girl freed herself and began to scream while Brown drove off. Police found a van matching the description several miles away and the victim identified Brown, the report says. FRANKFORT — The murder case against Brian Trainauskas is being delayed, pending an appeal by prosecutors that rests on whether the man’s constitutional rights were denied during a police interrogation. An Oak Lawn police offers new details of last week's kidnapping and robbery of an 81-year-old woman.
New details have emerged about last week’s kidnapping and armed robbery of an 81-year-old woman from the Jewel parking lot at 9424 S. Pulaski. The Chicago woman waited a day before reporting the late afternoon robbery on Oct. 26 because she was scared and didn’t want to drive at night, police said. Her abductors, described as a middle-aged black male and black female, remain at large. Believing the man to have a gun, the elderly woman drove to a nearby bank where she was forced to withdraw $9,000. Oak Lawn police say 81-year-old Chicago woman waited a day to report Wednesday crime because she was scared. Police are looking for black male and black female.
An elderly Chicago woman was kidnapped from a supermarket parking lot and forced to drive to a bank where she withdrew a large sum of money on Wednesday afternoon. Oak Lawn police said the 81-year-old woman was loading groceries into her car at the Jewel Food Store at 95th Street and Pulaski Road around 3:15 Wednesday, when she was approached by two black offenders, one male and the other female. The couple asked to victim to help them with some money they found in what police describe as a “pigeon drop.” The woman wasn’t interested and got into her car.
