Family pet disappeared from back yard shortly after midnight on Friday.
Irwin, a beige, Bichon Frise-mix disappeared from his back yard near Kilbourn Avenue and 95th Street early Friday morning, his family said. Unfortunately, Irwin is not chipped and lost his collar a few days ago. Irwin is was recently groomed, so his hair is shorter than what is in the picture provided by his family. We also grabbed a photo of what a groomed Bichon Frise-mix might look off the Internet. Irwin is male and weighs around 11 pounds. He only has one eye. His owners got in touch with Oak Lawn Patch shortly after midnight. We posted Irwin’s information on our Facebook page long after most of our readers went to bed. If you live in the area of Kilbourn and 95th Street, please check under your decks, your sheds and any other nook or…

Tucker's day off in Oak Lawn comes to happy conclusion. The missing Chihuahua-miniature Pinscher mix was found safe Thursday evening.
Tucker, the Naperville dog that went missing for 24 hours in Oak Lawn, was reunited with his family on Thursday evening. The “Chipin”—a Chihuahua-miniature Pinscher mix—slipped away from a relative in Oak Lawn who was caring for him and the family’s other dog, Rex, around 5 p.m. Wednesday, while the family was spending the day at Great America and camping. Angel Szuta-Boerema’s sister-in-law, Nancy Boerema, posted a message on Oak Lawn Patch’s Facebook page asking for help in finding Tucker. Since finding lost dogs is one of our specialties, we immediately sprang into action and called Angel who gave us the details. Oak Lawn Patch sent out a breaking-news alert to Patchland. We also notified our sister Patch site in Naperville. Angel was…

Angel Szuta-Boerema, Tucker’s owner, said her family was visiting Great America and were on their way to see relatives in Antioch when they got the call that Tucker was lost. Her husband’s grandmother, who lives near 93rd Street and Major in Oak Lawn, was taking care of Tucker when he got loose. Tucker is male, fixed, and weighs 13 pounds. He’s tan with a tint of light red, and has long legs and long …

Boots, Holly and Zeus are missing. We pray to St. Francis for their safe return.
There is always hope for missing friends. Just ask Don Moust. Last winter, Don’s Brittney spaniel, Quint, was lost for eleven days. Oak Lawn Patch sent out a breaking-news alert about the missing pooch and Don was inundated with Quint sightings. The Lost Dogs Illinois Facebook page helped too. We all followed Don’s anguished search for Quint. Then came the joyous phone call that Don had found Quint safe and alive. After weeks of looking for Quint, who was spotted in Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Mt. Greenwood and St. Casmir Cemetery, Quint turned up in Oak Forest just as Don was beginning to accept that perhaps he and Quint weren’t meant to be. In March, another reader let us know about her neighbor’s missing Chihuahua, Paco, on the Oak Lawn …

Paco, a tan and white Chihuahua is missing. He was last seen near 99th Street and Merton Avenue in Oak Lawn.
Paco, a tan and white Chihuahua, has been missing from his home since 9 a.m. Monday. He was last seen in the vicinity of 99th Street and Merton Avenue in Oak Lawn. His owner, Joann Waters-Figueroa, said that Paco slipped through a small opening in her house. He’s done this before but has always come home after a few hours. This is the longest that Paco has been missing. Paco is three years old. He is tan and white, and wearing a blue collar with ID tags containing his family’s contact information. Paco is not micro-chipped. Joann filed a report with the Oak Lawn Police Department. Police said the only dog they’ve found in the past 24 hours is a Yorkshire terrier. Joann also visited Animal Welfare League Tuesday morning, but Paco was not …

Owner says Brittany spaniel disappeared early Saturday morning (Jan. 21) after the snowstorm.
Oak Lawn-resident Don Moust is desperate to find his Brittany spaniel, Quint, who disappeared early Saturday morning (Jan. 21) after last week’s snowstorm. A friend’s young daughter opened the back yard gate accidentally letting Moust’s three dogs loose. They were able to round up the other dogs, but Quint was nowhere to be found. Quint disappeared in the vicinity of 107th Street and Cicero Avenue. He’s white with orange spots, and weighs about 45 pounds. The dog is between 3 and 5 years old. Moust says that Quint was wearing a collar. He is very shy and his owner says not to chase or call him because he may run away. “He only knows me,” Moust said. “He’s my child.” His owner has notified the Oak Lawn Police Department. Police said that …
