Business Comings & Goings: Oak Lawn to Announce 111th Street Anchor

Oak Lawn officials are expected to announce next week, possibly on Feb. 26, the first anchor store for the redevelopment project that will be getting under way this year at 111th Street and Cicero Avenue. The village has for months been demolishing buildings at the site in preparation for the redevelopment project, which is being handled by Hamilton Partners. Mayor Dave Heilmann teased Oak Lawn Chamber members with this piece of information but refused to disclose the pending lessee's name during his annual State of the Village address at the Hilton on Feb. 12. “Once we sign, the rest of these spaces will fill up rapidly," Heilmann said. “Who,” an audience member shouted. The food was decent at Stacked...too bad that is overshadowed by their inept waitresses and tiny place. Sorry, I don't feel like sitting shoulder-to-shoulder by being packed in there. Sticking with the favorite - Flap Jacks.. haven't had one bad service there - always fantastic.   more ›
