A balanced attack has served Bloom well as it remains the choice for No. 1 in the weekly Patch Power Rankings. Andrew is poised to make a move at No. 2. And don't forget about Marist, Homewood-Flossmoor or Sandburg.

Donald Moore and Bloom remain No. 1 in the weekly Patch Power Rankings for boys basketball. Andrew, Marist, Homewood-Flossmoor and Sandburg also are looking to build momentum for postseason play.
1. Bloom (19-3): Donald Moore runs the show. Henry Hicks runs the floor. The two combined for 24 points in the Blazing Trojans’ 64-44 victory over Rich East. And they’ll need to step up again as Bloom looks to settle a score with Rich South on Friday night. Moore has been selected to play in the Chicago United Hoops Classic all-star game on May 5. 2. Andrew's supporting cast stepped to the forefront in a victory over Illiana Christian and kept the T-Bolts cruising along at No. 1 in the weekly Patch Power Rankings for boys basketball. Homewood-Flossmoor has climbed to No. 2. And watch out for Sandburg.
1. Andrew (13-0): The T-Bolts’ supporting cast enjoyed a moment in the spotlight in a 59-34 victory over Illiana Christian. Mike Grenda (7 points, 6 rebounds), Mike Bobek (5 points, 5 assists) and Tyler Hook (6 points, 6 rebounds) put a stamp on Lucky No. 13. Andrew plays at Thornwood tonight. 2. Mother McAuley junior guard Alyssa Siwek came up big in the Mighty Macs' victory over Queen of Peace. She came up as the big winner in voting for Patch Athlete of the Week, too.
Mother McAuley's Alyssa Siwek outpolled five others in voting for Patch Athlete of the Week, Jan. 1-7. Siwek is now eligible for January Patch Athlete of the Month recognition. The candidates: Amena Brent, senior, forward/center, girls basketball, Homewood-Flossmoor. Brent scored 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a 49-35 victory over Sandburg.
