BLOTTER: Man Accuses Police of Being Prejudiced Against Tattoo, Bar Patron Insults Woman's Dancing

Oak Lawn police reports, April 6 through April 14.

SUNDAY APRIL 14 A 26-year-old man reported that a woman slapped him several times at George’s Lounge at 5407 W. 95th St. around 1:40 a.m. The man told police the woman got angry and slapped him four times in the face after he called her a “bad dancer.” Police said the man was “highly intoxicated” and could not provide a name or description of the woman, other than she was wearing a red shirt. An employee told police that man was being belligerent toward the woman throughout the evening. The man had also been “aggressive” to the employee. He refused medical treatment and police told him to go home. Police: 55th Court Barricade Situation Over

Woman with history of medical issues removed unharmed from home, police say.

2:29 p.m. -- Oak Lawn Police and the South Suburban Emergency Response Team peacefully resolved a barricade situation on Monday morning. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call around 6:45 a.m. in the 9200 block of 55th Court. When they arrived, police learned that a 22-year-old female with a history of medical issues had locked herself in a bedroom. Family members told police that the woman said she was “ready to defend herself,” a police news release said. Police said family members believed that it was possible the woman may have had access to a handgun in recent days. “Out of an abundance of caution, the Oak Lawn Police Department requested the assistance of the South Suburban Emergency Response Team,” police said. Bank Branch Robbed Second Time in a Year

Saturday's robbery of the Chase Bank in Oak Lawn may be connected to Alsip and Evergreen Park bank robberies.

Authorities believe that Saturday’s robbery of an Oak Lawn bank may be related to two other that occurred earlier this year in Alsip and Evergreen Park. Around 10:24 a.m. Saturday, the Chase Bank branch at 10545 S. Cicero Ave. in Oak Lawn was robbed, according to the FBI-run website, BanditTrackerChicago.com. Police Investigating Fatal Driveway Accident Involving Husband and Wife - UPDATED

The accident occurred in the 10800 block of LaPorte Avenue in Oak Lawn in what police term a "terrible tragedy."

In what police are calling a tragic accident, an Oak Lawn man was hit by a car and killed in the driveway of his home Friday afternoon.  The man, who is in his 70s, was returning home with his wife to their home on the 10800 block of LaPorte Avenue around noon, Oak Lawn Police Division Chief Michael Kaufmann said.  The man got out of his car to open the gate to their driveway when his wife, thinking he was clear of the car backed in, running him over, Kaufmann said. He became trapped under the car and died at the scene. His wife was not injured, a police news release said. The incident does not appear to be criminal in nature and seems to be a "tragic accident," Kauffman said.  Part of LaPorte Avenue near 109th Street is closed to traffic…

Police: Two Men Taken Into Custody After Brief Pursuit

Schools put on soft lock down as police take two men into custody for questioning in possible home burglary near 97th Street and Brandt Avenue.

Two men were taken into custody on Wednesday morning after a brief pursuit that put neighborhood schools on soft lockdown. An alert Oak Lawn K9 police officer spotted a red SUV that matched the description of a vehicle reported near the scene of a burglary in the 9700 block of West Brandt Avenue on April 9. When the officer stopped to talk to the driver around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, the driver ran into a house in the 9600 block of West Brandt. Police: New Lenox Woman Runs Over OL Cop Fleeing Coke Arrest

Woman refused to unlock her doors, ran over cop and got away during drug arrest, police said.

An arrest warrant was obtained for a former resident that eluded arrest during a pre-arranged cocaine sting, reports said. Oak Lawn police learned from a “confidential source” that Brittany Alyssa Rotto, 23, of the 700 block of Schoolgate Road, in New Lenox, had allegedly called to ask if he wanted to purchase two eight-balls of cocaine. Name of Driver Released in Fatal Car Crash

The 24-year-old driver had been charged with pot possession during a traffic stop last July, according to published reports.

BLOTTER: Juveniles Run Wild Through Jewel, Men Fight Over Petting Dog

Oak Lawn police reports, March 26-28.

THURSDAY March 28 Two men were charged with disorderly conduct after they reportedly fought over petting a dog. Police responded to a call of men fighting in the 9600 block of Southwest Highway around 7:03 p.m. Officers spoke to both men who were highly intoxicated, reports said. Wilfredo Morales, 54, of the 9600 block of Keeler Avenue, told police that he was trying to pet the other man’s dog, police said. The other man, identified as Dale R. Kinzie, 53, of the 6400 block of West 84th Street in Burbank, became angry, and ordered Morales not to speak to his dog, according to the report. Man Found Burning Near Dumpster Dies

A man who appeared to be homeless died of his injuries Tuesday evening after he possibly set himself on fire trying to stay warm behind some commercial buildings on Southwest Highway, police say.

An unidentified man died Tuesday evening after a passerby saw him on fire in the 9900 block of Southwest Highway. Sign up for Oak Lawn breaking news alerts and follow us on Facebook. By the time Oak Lawn and Burbank firefighters arrived at the scene, the man was already dead, according to the Oak Lawn police. Commander Det. POLICE BLOTTER: Man Offers Kids Lollipop in Men's Restroom and MORE

Oak Lawn police reports, March 26.

TUESDAY MARCH 26 Police responded to a report a man asking children if they wanted some candy in the mens’ restroom at Arena Bowl at 4700 W. 103rd St. When officers arrived around 2:40 p.m., the complaining grandparents and their grandchildren had already left. The manager reported that the children’s grandmother told him that a white male in his 60s approached her grandchildren in the men’s bathroom and asked if they wanted a lollipop. Police said the manager followed the man to another restroom, where it appeared the man was trying to smoke a cigarette.
