The man who called police on Daniel Vorberg, who was charged with public indecency after he was reported to have masturbated in his car near a Mount Greenwood school, speaks out about the incident.
The man who is the witness to a recent Mt. Greenwood crime wants to make sure people understand exactly what happened. He says that he and his fiance are the two witnesses to the alleged crimes of Daniel Vorberg, 30, the Oak Lawn man they say was masturbating in a car on the 11200 block of S. Spaulding Ave. just down the street from Cassell School in Mount Greenwood. On April 30, around 4 p.m., his fiance saw a car parked on the street on the side of their home, something seemed off. In front of the house around their porch was a group of about six kids, between six and nine years of age, he said. All Illinois Third Congressional District residents are invited to attend a town hall meeting hosted by Congressman Dan Lipinski at Oak Lawn Village Hall on Saturday, May 11. Residents will be able to hear from Congressman Lipinski about his work at home and in Washington, as well as ask questions and give their thoughts on federal issues. Congressman Lipinski’s staff will be on hand 30 minutes before the meeting starts to assist constituents with Medicare, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and other federal programs and matters. An Oak Lawn Patch Facebook fan spotted a coyote taking a brisk stroll in an Oak Lawn residential neighborhood Sunday morning. The coyote was spotted around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 28 at 102nd Street and 52nd Avenue by Brian Pletsch who was able to snap a few quick pics. A large coyote was spotted back in February on 93rd Street. With several confirmed sightings in the neighborhood, it is probably a wise move to keep an eye on your small dogs when they are outside. I live at 89th & 55th ave and last summer I saw one walking down the sidewalk on 55th not 2 blocks from my home. Long spindley legs are a dead give away. Unfortunately I was driving and couldn't get a picture but I had warned all my neighbors that leave their pets outside.   more ›
Family wishes to invite Good Samaritans who tried to help James Brewer when he was on fire to his memorial service this Saturday.
The homeless man that died earlier this month when he was found burning in next to some dumpsters is finally being laid to rest. A memorial service for James “Jim” Brewer is being planned for this Saturday (April 27) at Our Lady of the Ridge Catholic Church in Chicago Ridge. As citizens waited for first responders to arrive, they tried to put out the fire on Brewer. Runoff from Wednesday afternoon’s torrential downpours and more rain forecasted for Thursday is posing a flash flood threat to southeastern Cook County until noon, according to the National Weather Service. Much of the warning area has already received between 1 and 3 inches of rainfall during the day Wednesday, with the potential for another 1 to 2 inches through Thursday. Areas that may experience flooding includ Alsip and Blue Island.
