Toscas and Lind Stay on Ballot for Worth Township Seats

Worth Township Electoral Board decides fellow board members and United Party of Worth Township slates mates aren't in violation of state election code.

The Worth Township Electoral Board tossed an objection to remove two fellow board members and slate mates from April 9th ballot. Concurrent hearings were held Monday morning to determine whether Worth Town Assessor John Toscas and Town Trustee Jack Lind were in violation of state election codes prohibiting both from running for two offices simultaneously. Objection Filed Against Worth Township Incumbents

Oak Lawn resident is trying to get Worth Township Assessor John Toscas and Worth Township Trustee Jack Lind thrown off April 9 ballot because of conflicts of interest.

The fate of two incumbents running for the Worth Township Board will be decided Monday in a hearing before the township electoral board comprised of members from their own political slate. Connect with Patch: Oak Lawn /Evergreen Park/Palos The objector, Craig Cisko of Oak Lawn, hopes to toss John Toscas off the April 9 ballot, charging he is in violation of state election guidelines prohibiting candidates from running for two offices at one time. Toscas is running for mayor of Crestwood and for reelection as assessor for Worth Township. He is currently an elected Crestwood Village trustee. Objection to Trustee Candidate's Petition Appears Headed for the Long Haul

Attorneys spend most of first day of village electoral board hearing haggling over timeline.

Anyone who attended Round One of Andrew Skoundrianos vs. 3rd District Village Board candidate Dan Sodaro and expected a fast conclusion is just going to have to wait. Keri-Lyn Krafthefer, Sodaro's attorney, told the village electoral board that she planned to file a motion to dismiss Skoundrianos's objection that her client committed fraud and perjury when filing his nominating petitions to run for the 3rd District village trustee. Sodaro is going head to head with an entrenched incumbent, Bob Streit, who is running for his sixth term on the village board. Streit sat in a back row of the board chamber during the proceedings.
