40 Percent of Oak Lawn Homeowners are Mortgage-Free
Crain's Chicago Business reports 18,192 percent of Oak Lawn homeowners own their homes outright.
Article updated at 10 a.m. on April 4, 2013 Communities with a large segment of senior citizens or high median incomes tend to have the highest percentage mortgage-free homes, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. According to the Crain's analysis of 18,192 Oak Lawn homeowners, 40 percent are mortgage-free. These numbers are higher than the Chicagoland average of 26 percent of homeowners being mortgage-free. Tmarc75 your extra payments should be applied towards your principal immediately upon payment. They shouldnt be held in escrow and applied towards taxes. You might want to check with your mortgage carrier and have that changed in order to reduce your loan time. more ›
