3 Adults Charged in Disturbance at Chuck E. Cheese's

Oak Lawn Village Manager Larry Deetjen orders another meeting with Chuck E. Cheese's parent company to discuss security concerns before Tuesday's village board meeting.

Three adults were arrested on multiple charges of battery, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from a disturbance at Chuck E. Cheese’s on Saturday night. Taser Has No Effect on Fleeing Shoplifter, Cops Say

Man was was running away from grocery store with stolen alcohol, police said.

  Oak Lawn police shot multiple taser prongs at a man fleeing a supermarket with with stolen alcohol but the taser prongs had no effect, reports said. Sign up for the Oak Lawn Patch newsletter and breaking news alerts. Police were called to Jewel-Osco at 9424 S. Pulaski Road around 8:13 p.m. Jan. 3 for a retail theft that just occurred. When police arrived store employees pointed out a man identified as Limmie E. Varner, 46, of Chicago, standing at the bus stop across the street. Police said that Varner started to walk away when he saw officers arrive in the Standard Bank parking lot. The officer soon had Varner up against the bank wall with his taser activated, reports said. Puffy Coat Thief Found With Stolen Property, Cops Say

Man found to be possession of numerous items stolen from cars, police said.

Police responded to a call around 1:40 a.m. Jan. 6, of a man allegedly rooting around the inside of the caller’s van on the 6200 block of West 94th Street. On the way to the scene, officers saw a man wearing two black puffy coats that matched the caller’s description. The officer approached the man in the puffy coats, indentified as Jeffrey A. Smith, 23, of the 9500 block of South Ridgeland Avenue. Oak Lawn police charged a 47-year-old man with driving under the influence and resisting arrest after he threatened police during a traffic stop, reports said. POLICE: Oak Lawn Bar Brawl Nets Three Arrests, Man Tasered in Back

Employees at 99 Bar Code injured in melee involving three men from Palos Park and Hickory Hills, one of whom was tasered when he ignored cop's orders, police say.

A larger than normal crowd gathered outside an Oak Lawn tavern drew the attention of police who discovered a fight in progress on April 6. Three men were arrested on various battery counts and resisting arrest when one of them led an Oak Lawn police officer on a foot chase through the parking lot of Bar Code 99 at 9906 Southwest Highway. POLICE: Woman Upset About Brother Threatens Bar Patrons, Fights With Cops

Evergreen Park woman smacks cop in the jaw before being forcibly restrained, police say.

An Evergreen Park woman was arrested after she threatened bar patrons and fought with police on Jan. 18, reports said. Oak Lawn police were called to B.J. McMahon’s at 5432 W. 95th St. around 7:40 p.m. in response to a report of a woman in a red sweater trying to start fights in the bar. When police arrived, a patron pointed out Alicia H. Burke, 37, whom officers said appeared "intoxicated and agitated." When police asked Burke if everything was OK, she allegeldy told the cop she would kill anyone who tried to mess with her brother. Police: Busted Champagne Bottle Ignites Liquor Store Meltdown

Two women were hit with charges related to assault and battery after threatening and fighting with liquor store employees, police said.

A Crestwood woman was accused of disrupting a liquor store and fighting employees after they refused to sell her alcohol earlier in the day. Employees at a liquor store in the 10700 block of Cicero Avenue told police that Terica Gordon and two females were stopped from buying alcohol on Jan. 14 at 11 p.m. because they lacked the right identification. Store policy, they said, requires everyone — even those in a group buying alcohol — to present a driver’s license proving their age. Two of the women presented general state identification and one had nothing to show. The women left, but Gordon soon returned and after arguing with a security guard, grabbed a bottle of champagne and approached the clerk. Refused at the counter, Gordon then …

POLICE: 'Slumper' Charged With DUI Fights Cops

Police say man was asleep in 7-Eleven parking lot with key in ignition and engine running.

A Calumet City man found sleeping in his car with the engine running and the key in the ignition was charged with battery and driving under the influence on Dec. 26. Oak Lawn police responded to a report of a “slumper” in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 6765 W. 95th St. around 12:41 a.m. The partial license plate on the car matched that of an earlier report of an intoxicated driver in the area of 95th Street and Harlem Avenue, reports said. Police tried to wake up the driver, Kimothy E. Hill, 22, of Calumet City, while turning off the engine. Officers said they tried waking Hill up several times by flashing a light in his eyes. Oak Lawn Man Tasered After Charging Mom

20-year-old man arrested on multiple charges related to domestic disturbance after mom made his friends leave for drinking in house, police say.

Oak Lawn police arrested a man after shooting him with a Taser while answering a domestic disturbance call on the 9800 block of South Moody Avenue. Sam P. Czernek, 20, of the same Oak Lawn address, was charged with domestic assault, criminal damage to property and resisting arrest. The man’s mother called police at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 18 to report that her son had put a hole in the wall with his head and ran out of the house with a knife, police said. According to the report, the mom heard Czernek arguing with his girlfriend in the basement. When she went downstairs, she discovered her son and his friends drinking alcohol. 'Falling Down On the Green': Police Charge Brothers Near Beer Tent

Oak Lawn police say two brothers got belligerent and refused to back off while officers were conducting police work at the fest.

Two brothers face multiple charges after they interfered with police in the beer tent at Oak Lawn’s Fall On the Green celebration on Sept. 10. Steven J. McElheny, 25, and his brother, Timothy J. McElheny, 21, both of the 9700 block of South Oak Park Avenue, were charged with obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest. Steven received an additional charge for criminal trespassing. Oak Lawn police were patrolling the beer tent at Fall On the Green when they moved in to break up a heated argument between two men just before the fest closed at midnight.
